ESS Try Dinghy Sailing (2 hrs)

2 hrs

The course

Our own 2-hour course demonstrating how to sail a boat upwind and downwind. There will be plenty of opportunity to take the helm, with an instructor onboard at all times. At the end of the course you can continue with a six-hour ESS course or choose from the VDWS and RYA options, paying the difference in costs.

Teaching method

After a short safety briefing an instructor will take you out onto the lake and demonstrate how to sail. If wind strength and student numbers permit, those who wish to try steering will have the opportunity to try.

Course and session timing

It is essential that you are ready to go at the start of your session, to avoid limiting the time on the water.

Pre-course experience

A wonderful course suiting all and requiring no previous experience
